Copy It! Carrie Underwood Edition

I love everything about Carrie Underwood. Her make-up always looks flawless (she has the most perfect eye shape for smoky eyes), she has epic hair, and she's always a "do". Her stylist could definitely use a raise. ;)

I love how she's going back to her country roots in this outfit. It looks super comfortable, it's semi-cas, but it's also polished enough to wear in public (read: she doesn't look like a slob). And as always-her hair. is. amazeballs.

I'm sure the majority of you have a top like that in your closet. Something a tad oversized, super comfortable, and in a neutral shade. I have an olive green one and a navy one (both from Old Navy, under $15) that would work perfectly. If you don't have anything similar, check out this one from F21-definitely throw a white or nude cami underneath since it's slightly sheer.

Find it here!

The key to her skirt is to find something loose fitting, hits above the knee, and is in a feminine floral pattern. Keep the colors light, anything neon or too bright will throw off the whole "country" vibe. This floral skirt from Delia*s is super pretty, I love the colors! I'm not super crazy about the waistband, but that can be covered up by the sweater.

Find it here!

Cowboy boots are supes easy to find, I found a pair at Vanity when I was browsing around the other day. And at $40, they are so affordable! The website seems to be running a little low on their stock, but my local store had a ton in, so if you have one nearby, check it out! I'd get them in brown too, seems a little more "Nashville" to me, if you catch my drift. ;)

Find them here!

And now the accessories...you can pretty much wear whatever you want here. I like how she's got big earrings on, you can def pull them off as long as they're "natural" looking. Think wooden, hammered gold metal, and beads. She's also rocking a long necklace with a pretty pendant on it-go vintage if you can! Browse antique stores for a unique pendant and throw it on a long chain.

All jewelry from F21.

Throw your hair in curlers, pin back your bangs (with a little pouf, of course), and you're set!

Rock it, girl!

Two Rompers...Four Ways!

Two Rompers...Four Ways!

Click here for all the deets!

Le sigh.

I'm going through a quarter life crisis. I turn 26 in less than three months and I am FREAKING.

Like, legit panic.

I'm not ready to be in my "late twenties", I still feel like I'm 21!

Is this normal?

Aaaanyways, here's my post for the week. It's definitely been awhile, but I have been INSANELY crazy busy at work that everything else has fallen to the wayside (including dinner). I finally got some inspiration tonight and wanted to knock something out.

So here you have it, one of my favorite items of clothing-rompers. Or jumpsuits-whatevs you choose to call 'em. I love how verstaile they are, and to top it off-they're COMFY! These are all a little dressed up, but you can ALWAYS throw on some flippy floppys, throw your hair in a bun, and call it a day.

That's how much they rock.

'Tis all for tonight! Happy shopping!

How would YOU wear it?

The thing I love most about fashion is the endless opportunities for creativity that it provides. One piece can be worn in a thousand different ways, and can change depending on your mood. One piece can look one way on one person, and completely different on another. I love that.

As I was browsing on F21 today (yet again), I had an idea for a post, and wanted to share. I'm hoping to get some more feedback going on my blog, and want to encourage you, my lusties, to bring out your inner fashionista. Be fearless, remember that fashion is all about expressing YOU and what YOU love. What I'll do is post a couple pieces I'm digging, and then you can tell (or show me if you have something similar) me how you'd wear it!

I love this with some skinny black capri pants (ankle length), emerald green heels, and some fab gold jewelry.

I am so in love with this dress. The hot pink under the neon yellow is so beyond perfect and is such a fresh and modern color combo. I love the look of the platform heels here. I'd definitely keep the accessories simple, and keep the shoe fairly neutral.

There are so many ways you could wear this shirt. Over a maxi dress, paired with denim shorts, tied at the waist with a skirt-so. many. ways. I have a pair of high-waisted khaki shorts that would look fab with this and some lightweight loafers. Adorbs.

Hippie Love Pant - Tomato

There's not much I'd do with these. Keep it super simple and add a colored t-shirt (I'd do white, it's a nice contrast with the orange-y red), a fun necklace, and call it a day.

So there are my ideas, how about you? What would you pair with all these pieces?

Get those creative juices flowin'!

I've been so bad...

Between work and the sickness that has overtaken my household, Fashion Lust has fallen to the wayside. The inspiration has been lacking and I have been ex-hausted to put it lightly. So, while I sit here and watch "Dirty Dancing", I'm going to compile a small list of all the things I'm lusting after this week, and then hit the hay. I hope everyone has an amazing Easter, filled with delicious food, family, friends, and lots of fun (plenty of candy wouldn't hurt either)!

1. This isn't necessarily a "fashion" post, but when I saw these on Pinterest (are you following me? @carriejane), I instantly fell in love. I'm going to order one for Minnesota (where I grew up) and one for Wisconsin (where J is from). I may get one for New York since we live here now and it's where the nugget was born, but we'll see. And at $15, they're a total steal. Totally original too!

2. Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Lip Gloss Set
COLOR OF THE YEAR LIPGLOSS SET ($60 Value)
I really love the color of the year this year. That tangerine color is so beautiful, and now you can bring it to life on your skin and nails! This set has four glosses, all in Tango, with different shimmers and glitters in each one. So gorg! Definitely perfect for Spring. Check out Sephora for the entire collection!

3. "Festival Attire"
Coachella is in 6 days. I always love the fashions at these festivals, the goers seem to always look so stylish and cool, without looking like they're trying. I'm seriously obsessed with this Kaleidoscope Duster Jacket from F21, and I really love the babydoll dress that's underneath it. I think this is going in my cart, like right meow.

That's all I've got in me for tonight, I'm going to finish my Chipins and head to bed. We have an incredibly busy day tomorrow!

Work woes...

I know, I know, it's Tuesday and I'm supposed to be doing a "One _____, Four Ways!" post, but I have to work this afternoon and am currently waiting for a friend to stop by. Plus, I have to get ready (since I'm still sitting here in jeans, a hoodie, no make-up, and a messy bun-yikes!), so I have to make this semi-short and really sweet.

If you didn't know, I work in a department store in the cosmetics department, and we have to wear black. ALL BLACK. If I'm feeling funky, I can wear a colored tank/tee underneath my BLACK cardigan/jacket, but since it's usually about 80 degrees in the store, I try to stick with t-shirts or lightweight long sleeved tees. It's brutal, seeing all these cute outfits in the stores and wishing I could show my creative side at work. Buuut, I can't, and if I want to keep my job, I've gotta deal with it.

So here's my dilemma-how do you make an all-black wardrobe chic and stylish? I feel like I'm an extra on the Addam's Family set, not a fab "beauty advisor".

I usually try to incorporate some bright and fun accessories (like this awesome tribal feeling necklace I bought at Charlotte Russe), but I still end up feeling drab. I also do a lot of layering, but it still doesn't help.

Help me!
