One pair of pants...Four ways!

one pair of pants...four ways

Sequin top, £13

H M top, £7.99

Aren't those coral chinos just to die for? I am absolutely LOVING them! I love how they can totally be rocked in different ways, and you can even take them from the office to drinks in just a switch of your shoes. I'm totally in love with that "ring" clutch, and I've been waiting to be able to use it in a post for awhile now! I think my favorite look in this set is the "laid back" look, I can definitely see myself wearing those Toms (even though my clown feet look ridic in them) and that t-shirt. LOVE.

So what's your favorite look? Which one speaks to your personality?

Big things happenin'!

So I've decided to follow in the footsteps of many of the blogs I follow and start doing a sort of "blog schedule" for FL. I will obviously have other random posts throughout the day, but it's always fun to have a bit of structure, right? Right. I'm really loving the inspiration posts I've seen lately, and would love to have a link up of my own! I'll still probably be participating in the link ups with other blogs, but I want to get my own started. I'll definitely need your help though, cool? :)

Here's what I'm thinking for now, but depending on how well things work out, it may change:

Monday: Free Post
Tuesday: One _____ (dress/top/pants/skirt/etc), Four Ways
Wednesday: Free Post
Thursday: Inspiration Day! Link up your looks for the day!
Friday: Things I Love
Saturday: Free Post
Sunday: Beauty Post

Doing a little window shopping...

I am totally impatiently waiting for our tax return. Why does it seem that you find a thousand things you need when you have no money to spend, yet when you do have the money, you can't find anything you like? Must be Murphy's Law, huh?

Anywho, I'm waiting for The Voice to come on, and thought I'd check out Tobi's new arrivals and see what they had for 30% off today, and oh boy, I of course found some items that neeeeed to be added to my closet.

Love the high neckline and the lace on this dress. The back ties up too which is so sexy.

(Can you tell I'm on a dress kick?) Love the gray and the salmon (looks more peachy to me) of this dress. I wonder how "structured" it actually is though...

I'm obsessed with tribal prints as of late. I love the black and white print of this one, and the fact that I can add some pops of color to jazz it up a bit. The open back is super chic as well.

I need something a little more neutral, especially in a dress. I usually wear a lot of blacks and browns during the winter and more color during the summer, but I think this dress would be really pretty for a chill day at the farmer's market w/some gladiator sandals.

This is SO sexy. So, so, so sexy. I'm not quite sure if I have the guts to wear it, but it definitely caught my eye and I think it could be really awesome if done tastefully.

If anyone knows me, they know that this is my "nickname" of sorts and my favorite phrase to use to describe myself after a few too many Summer Shandys (and if you know what that is, then I love you even more). I just love this, all of it.

That's it for now, off to watch my show and crash. I tried piloxing for the first time tonight and it kicked my bum-but in the absolute best way possible!

Link up with two birds!

I was perusing over at two birds and found a really awesome link up opportunity for their "Inspiration Monday", and I figured I'd give it a go! They chose Miss Drew Barrymore as their inspiration, and since I'm very familiar with the skinny pants/t-shirt/cardigan look, I knew I had to participate! Head on over there to check out there looks, and in the meantime, check out mine!

Oh, and just my luck, my camera battery died just as I was about to take my pics. Aaand, my husband cracked the screen over in Afghanistan, so I think it's time for a new camera. I did my best to crop out the frame of my mirror and make these pics the best I could, but I know they don't compare to a regular camera. I'm honestly so embarrassed, but it's whatevs, right? ;)

Ze Oscars!

I have a bit of an Oscars hangover; I was up until almost midnight last night watching the show and obsessing over the gowns. The Oscars are a big event in my home, I spend all day wondering who's going to wear what and then watching the red carpet coverage for four hours. I love it. It's a good thing we have two televisions in our home, my poor husband spent all night downstairs while I was in our bedroom with my notebook scribbling down who was wearing whom and my thoughts about the look. I'm dedicated, what can I say? I'll be honest, there wasn't a single person who I thought did absolutely terribly; I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of class and elegance I saw on the red carpet. Way to go ladies, I'm impressed! So, without further ado, here are my best dressed of the night!

1. Michelle Willams in Louis Vuitton
Michelle Williams Oscars 2012 Dress
I love her, I just love her so much. She is, hands down, one of my favorite actresses, and in my opinion, one of the most beautiful women. She's just so delicate and feminine, right? This color dress fits her like a glove and the color is absolutely purrfect for Spring (but you guys already knew how obsessed I was with coral). I think she's just so effortlessly chic and can do no wrong. Aaand, I'm slightly jealous that she still looks like a bombshell with that pixie cut.

2. Cameron Diaz in Gucci
Cameron Diaz 2012 Oscars
The color and sparkle on this dress are so elegant. I'm a little bummed that she didn't accessorize more (either with her hair, make-up, or accessories), but that's just the way she is! I think a pop of color, like a bright red lip would have made her stand out a bit more. But the dress itself is beyond gorg.

3. Stacy Kiebler in...wait for it...Marchesa
George Clooney and Stacy Kiebler at the 2012 Oscars
Ahhhh...it looks like liquid gold, doesn't it?! This dress looks like it's just dripping off her. No need for crazy accessories here, since that dress speaks for itself (and she had George Clooney). I'm obsessed with Marchesa and pretty much LOVE anything they make.

4. Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford
Gwyneth Paltrow 2012 Oscars Red Carpet in Tom Ford
I was cleaning my room when I saw her on the red carpet and I literally dropped what I was doing, ran to the TV and said, "OH. MY. GOD.". No joke, I'm in love with this dress and cape. It's a sad day when you realize you will never be so cool as to be able to pull off a white cape on the red carpet, but Gwyneth embodies all that is cool and chic.

5. Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
I'll admit, this dress took me awhile to get used to. I didn't love it at first, I was kinda on the fence about it, but the more I looked at it and saw the intricacies, I fell in love. I love how her hair complements the gown too, that golden red is BEAUTIFUL. I remember looking at her face too and thinking that her make-up was spot on-so elegant, but in an understated way. She let the dress take center stage-which was the right thing to do.

6. Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
Prime example of a woman knowing and dressing to her body-she looks AMAZING! I love how the beading came in at her waist to give her a gorgeous hourglass figure. The little train added an extra touch of elegance, and her accessories and hair were spot on. Congrats on the win, Octavia (best acceptance speech of the night, too)!

7. Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive
Ellie Kemper - Armani Prive - Oscars
The color of this dress was so beautiful. I love how perfectly it complements her hair too (which, btw, looked so polished and beautiful).

8. Giuliana Rancic in Tony Ward
Giuliana Rancic 2012 Oscars
Oh man, I loved this so much. She predicted a lot of white, and although there was a lot less than she had though, she still looked angelic in it. I love the design on the shoulders and how everything is structured, but still extremely elegant. The dark red lips really topped off the look as well.

So there you have it, my top pics! What were your faves?

Ciao!

Day Clutches!

I love a good clutch purse.

I love it even more when it's worn during the day. There is something so ridiculously chic about an oversized clutch that I just can't get over. Clutches tend to be more fun and expressive than your regular, everyday purse. Obviously, you won't be carrying this all the time, so you can experiment with different styles and colors more than you usually would! Plus, a clutch screams "night on the town" which instantly excites me.

When you carry a clutch, people's eyes are going to be drawn to your hands and fingers, so why not pretty those up too? A killer manicure and cocktail ring can spice up any outfit, and this is the perfect opportunity to give them some much needed attention!

I love the girlyness of this clutch, and think the nude/sparkly polish adds a very polish look to it. When I wear a nude polish, I love to have a lot of sparkle in my ring. This combo is perfect for a Sunday brunch-it's ladylike, structured, and very classic.

I'm obsessed with this look. The dark brown and green are very sophisticated and polished, but the rhinestones and the hot pink polish add an unexpected punch of fun. All I can think of when I see this look is Ron Burgundy-"I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany".

I'm not usually a matchy-matchy person, but the clean-ness of this clutch and ring will look amazeballs with the bright aqua polish. The white and the aqua just reminds me of a tropical beach, so relaxed and fresh.

There's something about turquoise and red together that I absolutely love. The edginess of the knuckle ring gives this look an extra kick of bad ass-ery (excuse my language). I would definitely tuck in the chain strap and make this a clutch, but love that it's versatile enough to be both!

So would you or do you already carry a day clutch?

Ciao!

One dress, four ways!

One dress, four ways!

The one thing I love about this dress (besides the amazing color) is that it is so versatile and can be worn numerous ways. I'm usually in a different "style mood" each day, and there are times when I definitely want to sex it up a bit more than usual. So here are four different ways to wear this dress-add some pink ballet flats for a girly vibe, or carry a structured bag for a more classic feel. Throw on a blazer to make it more work appropriate, buy some tights to take it into colder weather, or slip on some gladiator sandals to dress it down. The possibilities are endless here, it's all about adding your own creative touch and making it your own.

So which style best suits you?

How 'bout a little beauty?

For those of you who know me personally will know that I used to work for Benefit Cosmetics. I'm currently in the running for a Counter Manager position for Lancome too (so cross your fingers for me!), and along with fashion, I love make-up. I have to hide a lot of it from my husband because he thinks I don't need to wear the stuff (awww!) and it's a waste of money. Well, he's wrong. And now that we finally have an Ulta here, I can indulge in my obsession as often as I want.

Anyways, I'm trying to branch out with this bloggity-blog and include a wider array of topics, so this is the start! I want to spread the love about Benefit and share some of my all time favorite products of theirs and tell you why you NEED this stuff in your collection.

"hello flawless!"
I've always had a rough time finding a foundation that worked for me and would cover the uneveness of my skin. Since it's so dry, it gets flaky and I get these awesome red patches all over my face. This stuff covers amazingly well and doesn't feel heavy or cake-y on my face. Plus, it comes with two applicators, a sponge for heavier coverage, and a brush for lighter coverage.

high beamhigh beam
This will forever be one of my favorite products of all time. And it lasts forever, which is an added plus! This is a "highlighter" of sorts, but it can be used so many different ways. My favorite way to use it is to put it on my cheeks (you only need three little dabs), and then put blush over it. It gives you such a pearly glow. You can also put a little on your cheekbones (above where you put your blush) as a highlighter. Put a little under your brow bones too!

BADgal lash mascaraBADgal lash mascara
Hands down, my favorite mascara. It's never clumpy, never flaky, and always leaves your lashes looking super full. They also make it in plum which intensifies your eye color (and seriously, it works!).

1010
&
CORAListaCORALista
Their blushes are AWE.SOME. I really love "10" because it's the perfect bronzer for pale skinned bettes like myself. It has a blush "built in" to it, so once you swish your brush around in it, you get an even amount of color and bronzer. It's genius! The CORALista is beautiful on any skin tone. And it smells pretty too! These are just two of my favorites, but I seriously love all their blushes.

I'm a bit bummed that they've discontinued products that I used to love, but I'm really excited to try some of their new stuff!

So tell me, what's your favorite line and your favorite products?

Ciao!
