My super awesome brother is working on a new header for me, so that will be up soon.

Let's talk MAXI! Maxi dresses are baaack!
Alright, I understand that not all my readers are able to wear these lovely creations, but since it is Spring (woot!), I felt the need to dedicate a post to my favorite warm weather staple. Maxi dresses are the purrrfect thing to wear when it's freakin' sweltering outside. They're airy and flowy, without showing too much. I lived in these suckers when I was pregnant, and they were SO comfortable. My vow to myself this year is to buy more (haha, awesome promise, my hubs will appreciate that), but NOT only buy them in solid colors. I want one either purple or cobalt dress, but after that, I'm all about the hippie/boho vibe. I'm thinking of throwing a tie-dye one in there as well, we'll see what I come across. Alright, let's shop, shall we?!
Once again, Lulu's has a huge selection of maxi dresses. Some are more on the "daring" side (hell-o, sheerness!), but most of them are pretty tame and totally wearable. It looks like my tie-dye dream came true, because I stumbled across this Billabong Rio Dress. Billabong is the epitome of surfer-cool-chic, so you really can't go wrong here.
Forever 21 is having a Yellow Tag Sale on this Tribal Maxi Dress-it's only $12.40! I lurrrve the design on it, it's so boho and bright. So cheerful! It also comes in a blue and purple pattern.
I love Love Culture, do you? So many cute clothes! I love the simple cut of this Belted Tribal Maxi Dress-it's a simple tank dress and it's belted! So adorable. There's something about the print that makes it really wearable too, I love the colors!
Alright, one more dress, and even though this one isn't patterned, I'm in luh-uh-uh-uhve! Have you checked out ASOS yet? They have the cuuutest clothes, and even though some of them are insanely out of reach budgetwise, they have a TON of affordable pieces too. This Vera Moda Knitted Urban Maxi Dress is so chic and low-key. I love the belt that's with it and can totally see it paired with a long, vintagey necklace. Swoooon.

Charlotte Russe's Tropical Chiffon Maxi Dress reminds me of a mermaid. The mix of turquoise, purple. and red makes me feel like I'm looking at some tropical lagoon. I can feel the breeze now...(give me a moment)
Ok. This dress is beautiful. I love everything about it; the pattern, the color, the sweetheart neckline, everything.

Remember to keep your accessories "natural". This Sequined Basketweave Beach Bag would look great with any of the styles and it's perfect for the beach! Throw in your sunscreen, towel, iPod, and water, and you're set! A wooden bangle like this Paneled Wooden Bracelet would work well with all the dresses. A simple pair of sandals (NOT flip flops) will complete the look.
I hope all you warm weather ladies are soaking up the sun for me! We're slowly getting warmer, it's been in the upper-40's here lately! Woo-hoo, I can see Spring!
It's time for another celebrity inspiration!
I was browsing through my copy of People Style Watch (the one with Katy Perry on the cover) and fell in absolute love with one of Audrina Patridge's super casual looks. There's something about those Hills girls-they always seem to get it just right. So many of my looks have centered around skinny jeans, so this look is fresh and new (so fresh and so clean, clean, so fresh and so clean)-perfecto for Spring!
Which reminds me...HAPPY SPRING, lusties! About damn time, eh?
Now, I couldn't find a picture online, so I snapped one using my phone. I've gotta give credit though to the mag, and you can find the full article (which is all about 70's style inspirations) on page 238 of the March 2011 issue. I apologize, my bibliography skillz suck. You all get my point though.
This look is so simple, and I think these pants will be flattering on more body types. She's got 7 For All Mankind jeans on, and they appear to be the Georgia High Waist Leg Trouser in New Zealand, but don't quote me on that. These jeans are amazeballs, but they run about $189/pair. Jeans are one item that you should definitely splurge on, but if you're like me, I can't justify spending almost $200 on a pair. Not when I need formula and baby food. Maybe in ten years, but definitely not now. Check out Plato's Closet or other high end consignment shops, they sometimes will have some 7 jeans and you can scoop up a pair if you get that lucky. The Buckle has a pair of trouser jeans in a darker wash for $49.50-now THAT I can handle! These are the Daytrip Libra Stretch Trouser, and although they're a different wash than Audrina's, they're still awesome.
The rest of this look is even simpler. You can grab any long sleeved tee from your closet or you can go out and buy a new one (if you're a TRUE lustie, you go buy a new one). A v-neck would look cute, but I'm digging the crew neck she's rockin'. Old Navy has a TON of crew and scoop neck tees starting at $6.97! Holy crap, that's a steal! I like the "plum it" and "mineral deposit" colors they have, but you can wear any color that your skin allows. ;)
All that's left are the accessories. Audrina has paired her trousers and tee with a golden braided belt, and once again, Old Navy comes to the rescue with their awesome selection of belts! They have braided belts and plain ol' skinny belts. It would be super adorable if you paired a more neutral colored tee (like the "mineral deposit" color) with a brightly colored belt (like that hot pink one). Gorg! At $12.50 a pop, you can snag a few to switch up your look! Forever 21 has a TON of accessories for super cheap (as if you didn't know), and I found this Dimpled Bracelet for...wait for it...$2-freaking-80! Insanity! I'm kinda over the extreme stacking look, so stick with one. Save money for shoes.
Speaking of shoes, it looks like she's got a simple pair of peep toes on with the jeans. Thing is, your trousers should cover your shoes, so it reeeally doesn't matter what you wear underneath. I plan on wearing my awesome clogs I bought in San Fran last Summer (I found 'em at Ross for a steal @ under 20 bucks!), but you can totally go the stiletto peep toe route if you choose. Lulu's has a drool-inducing selection of shoes and the majority of them are under $50. I have a shoegasm every time I look at their site. Srsly. I found these and my heart pitter-pattered a bit. They totally pull together that groovy 70's vibe. A simple peep toe will look fabulous too, but these Black Nubuck Bow Toe Platform Heels by Qupid are only $32 and so super cute.

Ok, I officially can't wait to go shopping. H&M has been calling my name for days upon days. I need some trouser jeans right meow.

I'm going to be selfish for a minute...
So we've got leave dates!
I'm SO super excited to see my hubster after [what will have been by the time he's here] 7 loooong months! And knowing me, what's the first thing I think about?
WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?!
It's been so long since I've experienced warm weather, I feel like I don't remember what the weather is like in this frigid state in mid-Spring. I think all Minnesotans go through this phase; we get so used to the cold, that we kinda start to panic once it gets warm. That's why you see so many of us crazies walking around in t-shirts once it hits 40 degrees. We try to SQUEEZE out every ounce of warmth that we can. To be honest, we're scared it's never going to come back.
Ok, I'm kidding. Kinda. But srsly, I have all these things to consider when I'm picking out my "airport" outfit. What if he picks me up and I'm wearing a dress? What if I find something that's sleeveless and then have to find something to put over it if it's cold? What if...GASP...it snows? Is that possible? I mean...it DID snow on Mother's Day last year, so it's possible! Ahhh, so many questions.
Ok, so maybe pants and a cute top would be the best route to go for picking him up. Really, it's been 7 months since he's seen a woman, I really don't think he's going to be paying too much attention to what I'm wearing. Although I'm sure he wouldn't mind something tight and short. I forget how simple men are.
I found a SUPER cute dress at Charlotte Russe today, but now that I see it online and on an actual person, I'm not sure I like it. Honestly, I thought it'd have a deeper neckline, but it doesn't look like it does on the model. I suppose I could "open" it up a little more, but I'm not sure. Sigh...I should have just tried it on in the store! Here's the dress...
I wish the pink part was white, I think I'd like it more. Orrr maybe I should start incorporating more color into my wardrobe! Haha, my closet is full of neutrals; black, white, cream, and gray. Soooo boring!
Then I came across this gem...
Ok, yeah, it's a little trashy, I know, but wouldn't my husband just DIE if I came out in this?! I seriously LURVE it and could really have fun with my shoes. I think I might actually allow myself to wear heels for the night and be taller than my hubs. Ugh. So do I show this to him or surprise him? Decisions, decisions.
Alright, that's enough babbling from me tonight. I'm totally overthinking my wardrobe choices here, but what else is new? I'll shop for a week straight looking for the perfect outfit and won't find a THING and then be all upset because I feel like I look like crap at whatever event I'm attending. No joke, that's how I am.
Alright my lusties, I'm going to go enjoy my Coke, do some more online shopping, and watch a movie. This lady has got some serious alone time on her hands and isn't quite sure what to do with it! :-P

Where is Spring?!
I'm SICK of wearing boots. And socks. I want to be able to wear my heels, flats, wedges, and sandals again, but according to the news, there's another 1.5" of snow still heading our way. Le sigh, I should have known that we hadn't seen the last of it-it is only March afterall. Maybe a pedicure would help me feel like Spring is just around the corner. Until I can get to the salon, here's some shoe candy to drool over...
*Shoes from Charlotte Russe*
Metal Studded T-Strap Sandal: $22.50
Ruffle Teardrop Platform Heel (in ORANGE! Doesn't it look like a creamsicle?!): $35.50
Perforated Slingback Platform Sandal: $35.50
Studded Peeptoe Mary Jane's (so very 70's!): $32.50
Alright, what else reminds you of Springtime?
And to my warm weather readers, don't you dare rub in the fact that ya'll are probably already wearing these things (and have been all year)! :-P
